Senior Risk Manager - Industrial Technology

ASM is currently looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join our Global Risk Management team in Almere, The Netherlands.

Key roles of the Risk Management team are: Support the business in identifying, managing and mitigating business risks. We do this by:

• Building an effective Risk Management culture;
• Performing an annual risk assessment with various stakeholders;
• Coordinating quarterly business control assessments;
• Coordinating ASMs business continuity process;
• The team plays a pivotal role in enabling and supporting ASM’s growth ambition for the coming years.

Your key focus areas are:

• (Co) shape our risk management strategy and process focused on adding value;
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance and risk management laws and regulations;
• Design and facilitate business unit risk assessments;
• Train and coach our (senior) leaders in risk awareness and risk appetite;
• Assist our business owners in follow up on our risk assessment making sure that our business control framework is fit for purpose;
• Represent risk management in company wide projects as needed.

As Senior Risk Manager you are proactive and execute with pace, elegance and urgency. You have excellent communication skills and know how to manage your stakeholders. You understand processes and risks so that your advice that is easy to understand and implement for the business teams.

Further you have a(n):

• 10+ years of relevant working experience, for instance in the domain of Business Operations, Risk Management, Process improvement;
• Affinity with engineering and/or manufacturing processes;
• Academic level (master’s degree), preferably supplemented with a post-master education such as RA, RE or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt;
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen. Experience in advising business leaders, business controllers and process owners;
• Ability to focus on quality instead of compliance;
• Desire to understand the root cause of the challenges you face;
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing) with the ability to influence across a global organization within a diverse and multicultural environment;
• The role is based in the Netherlands (Almere) with up to 10% travel.
