Risk Manager - Industrial Technology

ASM is currently looking for a Risk Manager to join our Global Risk Management team in Almere, The Netherlands.

Key roles of the Risk Management team are: Support the business in identifying, managing and mitigating business risks. We do this by:

• Building an effective Risk Management culture;
• Performing an annual risk assessment with various stakeholders;
• Coordinating quarterly business control assessments;
• Coordinating ASMs business continuity process;
• The team plays a pivotal role in enabling and supporting ASM’s growth ambition for the coming years.

Your key focus areas are:

• Assist our business owners in follow up on our annual enterprise-wide risk assessments, ensuring controls are in place and in line with our risk appetite;
• Co-facilitate the business unit risk assessments;
• Train and coach process owners on control self-assessments and control improvement;
• Analyze control self assessment results and define key risk indicator reporting;
• Support our business teams with their control self assessments follow up;
• Perform process walkthroughs and advise global process owners on process design, risk identification and controls;
• Train and coach process owners and other stakeholders in risk awareness and risk management process execution;
• Support our business continuity leads.

The role will be based in the Netherlands (Almere), with up to 10% travel.

As Risk Manager you are proactive and execute with pace, elegance and urgency. It is key that you can quickly build trust and rapport with various stakeholders, combined with excellent communication skills. You can translate risks in advice that is easy to understand and implement for the business teams.

Further you have a(n):

• 5+ years of relevant working experience, for instance in the domains of Risk Management, Internal Control, Continuous Improvement and/or Business Process Management;
• Academic level (master’s degree), preferably supplemented with a post-master education such as RA, RE or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt;
• Good business acumen, experience in a supporting role, for example advising business leaders and global process owners;
• Affinity with (data) analytics and ability to translate data into meaningful reports that drive follow up;
• Strong analytical, planning and organization skills, ability to thrive despite uncertainty and a changing environment;
• Proven affinity with processes and their design, preferably engineering processes, experience with BPMN is a great plus;
• Ability to focus on quality instead of compliance;
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing) with the ability to influence across a global organization within a diverse and multicultural environment.
