Group Business Audit Manager - Energy

As part of the SHV Energy Global Internal Audit team we are looking for a Group Business Audit Manager to join our team in The Netherlands, reporting to the Head of Group Internal Audit. SHV Energy Group Internal Audit is a global function, providing assurance and advisory services to our Businesses across 25 countries. For this specialized and diverse team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and disciplined Group Business Audit Manager with good knowledge of risk management, finance- and internal controls, and the full audit cycle.

The Group Business Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing the business audit function within SHV Energy. This role involves developing and implementing audit strategies, ensuring compliance with internal/external requirements and providing insights to improve business processes and controls. The Business Audit Manager will lead a team (6 direct reports) of diverse auditors and will work closely with senior management of all SHV Energy entities to identify and mitigate risks.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders providing insights and supporting business objectives.
• Identify and assess areas of significant risk and recommend strategies to manage these risks.
• Develop and maintain the rolling business assessment plan.
• Align scope, timing, test plans and methodologies with business stakeholders.
• Supervise assessments in accordance with the assessment plan and IIA good practices.
• Review reports, giving clear observations and actionable recommendations.
• Align outcomes with management to ensure action plan commitment and risk mitigation.
• Stay updated on industry good practices and emerging trends in audit and risk management.
• Orchestrate departmental improvement initiatives (e.g. D&A, RPA, professional practices).

Education:

• Masters's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related areas.
• Professional certification (e.g., RA, CPA, CIA) preferred.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Internal Auditing, preferably within the energy sector and/or (international) audit firm. At least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with, and understanding of core finance- and operational processes, risk management and internal controls.

• Proficiency in GRC/Audit software (e.g. TeamMate+).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Fluency in English a must. Fluency in Portuguese a plus.
